Troy Internal Medicine

Discover how this busy Michigan-based Medical Practice maintains uptime, connectivity, and security.

MBM has been working with Troy Internal Medicine since 2002. As their MSP, we provide consulting, IT support, security, and their print, and cabling infrastructure. It is our goal to implement technology that improves efficiency, security, and allows them to continue the best patient care without interrupting their existing workflows.

Staying connected when disaster strikes

With 125 employees in departments spanning many facets of specialized medical care, lab work, research, and administration, this customer places a high importance on network speed and wireless connectivity. When interruptions occur, they rely on us to work around the clock to prevent downtime and deliver solutions. On one occasion, their network became overwhelmed and dropped in one area of the building, leaving an entire department without access. MBM set up additional computers over the weekend to ensure Troy Internal Medicine could continue to take care of their patients on Monday. We then evaluated and identified the building’s connectivity issues and got the affected area back online.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we also ensured their doctors had the resources needed for telehealth appointments, securing BYOD equipment in line with data protection protocols.

A relationship built on trust

Our relationship with Troy Internal Medicine is built on honesty, trust, and integrity. By listening to their problems and getting to know their workflows, we’re able to identify flaws and opportunities, and suggest improvements. When things don’t go to plan, we own our actions and do whatever it takes to maintain operations and resolve the problem.
On questions of patient care and staff workflows, they are the experts. In some cases, they prefer to stick to traditional, manual systems, and that’s OK – so long as security is maintained. In turn, they trust us to provide sound, expert advice that’s in their best interest. Working behind the scenes, we are always on the lookout to identify vulnerabilities and detrimental workflows that their end-users may never have known about.
Going forward, we’re working to increase productivity and security through on-premises and cloud-based solutions. As new partnerships form between Troy Internal Medicine and other local facilities, we are also liaising with them to facilitate secure data sharing.
