In 1985, Modern Business Machines, Inc. (MBM) was formed to provide the finest in computer hardware maintenance and support. Founder Rick Tessmer started the business from his home, providing hardware service on Burroughs accounting machines. In 1986, the company was relocated to a one room office in Ferndale, Michigan. In 1988, the company, concentrating on hardware maintenance and cable installation, continued to expand which required moving to a larger office suite in Southfield. In 1989, MBM moved to another new facility in Troy, Michigan. During the ensuing years, the company added several thousand square feet to the location. In November, 1997, MBM moved to its current location, 375 Robbins Drive, Troy, Michigan. Currently, MBM occupies a 15,000 square foot building providing ample space for continued growth. At the same time, MBM's growth allowed for expansion and a second location was opened in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
In addition to hardware maintenance and support, MBM has added Network Design, and Operating Systems Support as well as Telephony and Wireless Solutions to its repertoire. While expanding services and solutions, MBM also adopted a new name and look which better illustrates its evolution--MBM Computer Systems Solutions.
